The Role
We are seeking an ambitious B2B E-Commerce Business Development Manager to drive growth by acquiring new retail partners and building long-term relationships across the jewellery and fashion retail sectors.
This is a consultative sales role, selling a service solution rather than a traditional product. You will identify opportunities, engage decision-makers, and demonstrate how our service delivers a competitive edge.
Key Responsibilities
• Identify, research, and prioritise prospective retail and online partners.
• Generate new business through outreach, networking, and industry events.
• Present our solution persuasively, highlighting benefits such as reduced stockholding, rapid fulfilment, and incremental sales opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal teams (digital, merchandising, fulfilment) to configure product ranges tailored to each client.
• Negotiate and close new account agreements.
• Deliver against agreed KPIs, including new account acquisition, sales growth targets, and client retention.
• Maintain market awareness, spotting trends and opportunities in digital retail.
• Provide regular feedback to leadership on client needs and the competitive landscape.
Candidate Profile
Essential Skills & Experience
• Proven track record in business development or sales, ideally in jewellery, watches, or luxury goods.
• Strong understanding of e-commerce and digital retail.
• Consultative sales approach, with the ability to educate and influence stakeholders.
• Excellent networking, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Commercially astute, able to build compelling business cases.
Desirable
• Experience with department stores, jewellery multiples, or major online retailers.
• Knowledge of ERP and e-commerce platforms (e.g. Shopify).
• Existing network within the jewellery, watch, or luxury goods sector.
